In June 1993, IDF established its Procurement Support Services department, organizing a high level consulting team to provide support for procurement matters and related project management services.
In 1997, IDF was selected to perform work in support of World Bank staff. Much of this work was performed in countries undergoing systemic transitions, such as the Russian Federation, Central Asia and Eastern Europe and involved procurement activities throughout all stages of the project cycle.
In 1998, IDF and PriceWaterhouseCoopers developed a joint venture to undertake procurement audits for the World Bank.
As of March 2000, this IDF/PWC partnership has already been awarded bids for eight procurement audits. Many of these include projects in Paraguay, Peru, Brazil, Panama, Nicaragua and Honduras.
